It's ok to try things that might not work, the keyword being "might". If you are sure it won't work, then there's no point. But if there's a chance it just might work, go ahead try it. If it does work, amazing. If not, all good, you get to learn something new. Don't be afraid to try new things that seem not so sure of working.
