Lesson 059 - God Tells the Prophets To Write Many Things About the Coming Deliverer

God is unique among all that He has created but remember, He is in a category all His own. He is the only One who knows the future because He is eternal. He sees and knows everything that there is to know whether it has happened already or not. This could cause two reactions; great fear or great comfort. Fear, because everything will come to pass just as He said. Comfort, for the same reason. It all depends on who God is. If He is only a God of wrath and judgment, then great fear will be the result because all a person can see is a Lake of Fire awaiting them. If He is only a God of love and mercy, then great comfort is the natural conclusion because all a person sees is Heaven, but to believe either of these views to the exclusion of the other is to lead to great deception. God is both a God of great wrath, and great mercy. Accepting both of these views leads to another conclusion; choice. All through the Old Testament you have seen a series of choices and you have also seen God's character. Soon, we will discover how God is going to reconcile these two seemingly opposing views that people have of Him.
