Isn’t it interesting how we all try to be someone or be known in some way?
In the world right now, it’s not uncommon to see people speaking out for things they believe in and the things that they’re against. Why do we do that? Because we are all on an individual journey to be accepted and truly loved by someone. There is absolutely nothing wrong with doing that because we were made to be known. Yet, in all our years of searching for a place to “fit in,” we didn’t realize that void truly could be filled by Jesus. This week, we’re talking about the relevance of Jesus in society today and how being mighty actually does come from our intimate relationship with Him and nothing else. Listen to the podcast discussion for more!
The Takeaway: Personal Application
1. What societal or cultural barriers have I personally experienced or witnessed, and how can I follow Jesus' example of breaking them down boldly and in love?2. In what ways have I been influenced by religious culture or human tradition, and how can I refocus my faith on Jesus' message of love and relationship?3. How can I let go of the need to please people or be tolerant of harmful behaviors, and instead love everyone the same while standing up for what's right?4. What areas of my life do I need Jesus to hold the keys to, and how can I deepen my personal relationship with him as my king?
Verses: John 6:42, Galatians 3:28, Luke 8:43-48, John 13:34-35, Mark 7:8-9, Matthew 9:10-13, John 14:6, Revelation 19:16
“Everything we could ever need for life and godliness has already been deposited in us by his divine power. For all this was lavished upon us through the rich experience of knowing him who has called us by name and invited us to come to him through a glorious manifestation of his goodness.” - 2 Peter 1:3 TPT
