There are so many details that are not included in the story of Jesus’ birth, and this is especially true when it comes to these mysterious wise men that show up. Who are these guys? Why did they show up? What star were they following? What was Joseph and Mary’s reaction? How much gold are we talking about here? All of Scripture is a gift given to us and that includes this part of the nativity. But how often do we ask what lessons we can learn from the Magi that sought out the King of Israel? How does their story connect with us in our faith today?
