Many have wrongly concluded that non-Christians today can look to the thief on the cross to learn specifically what to do to be saved. The fact is, the penitent thief was promised Paradise while living under the Old Covenant. Today, we live under the New Covenant. Still, though the thief lived under the Law of Moses, we can learn some general, timeless spiritual truths from his example.
