Text: Romans 3:5-8

Outline:

I. Doctrine: God is righteous & true in all of His ways and dealings with men, both in His grace and in His judgment.

A. God, the righteous Judge, is righteous in judging & inflicting wrath upon unrighteous people whose unrighteousness glorifies His righteousness (5-6)

B. God, the true/truth-full Judge, is true in judging & condemning (damning) sinful people whose lives of law-less lies magnify His truth/truthfulness (7-8)

II. Doxology: We glorify & enjoy God by living lives of righteousness & truth in dependence upon (not independent of) His goodness/grace.

A. Glorify & enjoy God by faith-fueled pursuit of Christ’s heart-righteousness (Matt 5:6)

B. Glorify & enjoy God by faith-driven “truthing” in zealous love (Eph 4:15; 1Tim 1:5)
