Often, the devil tricks us into thinking that God is punishing us just because we have to go through something but a lot of times, it's just God pruning us so that we may become more fruitful. Only sometimes, it may be a punishment. The word reprove not only pertains to someone's wrongdoing; if you're doing good, God makes you better when he reproves you.
