Today you’re being reminded to let it be easy.
We’ve often been told that hard work pays off, and that if something’s worth having, it’s worth working hard, sacrificing, and/or fighting for.
People value hard work and can show someone more respect and think they’re more deserving of their rewards and success if they’ve worked hard for it.
But what if allowing it to be easy was also an option.
How would you feel if allowing it to be easy gave you the same results as working really hard?
What if you allowed yourself to receive, ask for help, step into your own flow and find your own rhythms, rather than ploughing on when you really wanted to rest, or feeling that you need to prove that you deserved it by working hard for it?
How much of your identity and what you value is tied up in the idea of being deserving or working hard and being busy.
Working hard and being busy are definitely not wrong, they deserve to be valued. But have you considered that there could be an alternative too, or at least that there was a time for allowing more ease and not having to reduce yourself to exhaustion and burnout.
In this very moment, just pause and take a breath, as you consider alternative ways of doing things.
Today’s SHEro Action:
Today’s SHEro action is to notice your thoughts, feelings and judgements towards those people who you consider to work hard and those who appear to make things look easy.
Do you value the things you can do with ease as much as the things you work really hard for?
How do you feel about allowing things to be easy, do you think it’s possible or just fantasy thinking?
Pause, and take a breath. As you give yourself permission to consider the possibility of allowing things to be easy.
Today’s Affirmation:
