Let Me See If You Can Run It, Run It

Listen Later

Easter = chocolate, easter eggs, hot cross buns, chocolate bunnies. Easter is the time when diets are put aside, exercise regimes are excused, and easter egg hunts are the extent of our activity for the weekend. But the media makes us feel bad about when we indulge, and guilts us into 'working off' the calories we consume over the weekend, and all the time. So, how do you deal with making exercise something you enjoy, rather than attaching it to/associating it with the idea of it being a punishment for the food you've eaten? This week we talk about how both of us have struggled with this, and what we do to try to avoid falling into the negative mindset of working off 'bad' foods.

02:52 - Should you be trying to balance the easter eggs you eat with exercise?

05:18 - Viewing exercise as a punishment

05:48 - Gabbi's experience with an unhealthy relationship with food and exercise

07:24 - Bad food v good food

10:09 - Counteracting the thoughts of an eating disorder

12:03 - Tumblr: bad influence, or community facilitator?

14:06 - Amy's experience with her relationship with food

16:24 - How has Amy dealt with the pressures of being different, and dealing with depression

18:46 - High school is brutal

19:42 - There is so much more to life than how much you eat and how much you exercise

20:49 - Talking about diets

Have a great and safe Easter! x
