This week I'm joined by Steven Vineyard, one of the Sailors I served with in Bangor, Washington so many years ago. I first met him 11 years ago when he came to our Harbor Security Boat unit. He was the first new Sailor we had gotten in probably close to a year, so I found myself in a bit of a leadership role, for the first time in my Navy career.
Luckily, Steve says that I did a good job, and he certainly did too. We got to be friends, but like a lot of Navy pals, we tend to miss out on where we came from and what happens after the service. He catches me up with all of his experiences before, during and after Bangor.
If there is any takeaway from this episode, it's to persevere and call up an old pal. It's a blast!
