Hello Dawn here,Â
So earlier this year, I participated in my fourth ultra cycling race, the Race Around Rwanda. A race I did not finish. Please check out episodes 29 and 29a for my DNF race report. Â
As with my earlier ultra races, after Race Around Rwanda was done, I quickly signed up for another race. This time, Dead Ends & Cake, a three-day self-supported ultra that sees those participating cycle 500km with 9000m of climbing. As the name suggests it has dead end checkpoints.. five to be exact, each with cake. It is due to start on 23 June, from St Gallen Switzerland.Â
I was able to speak to Dominik Bokstaller, the race organiser a little while ago for the podcast. Since that time however, my personal circumstances have changed and I will no longer be participating in this particular race. While I’m sad I won’t be on the start-line for this race, I’ll be following along with interest and wanted to share this episode to spread more awareness of this fun, accessible ultra that features an even 50/50 split of participants on the start-line.Â
I wish both Dominik and his wider team, as well as all those participating, the very best Â
