As we begin to study the book of Deuteronomy, the last of Moses’ five books (collectively known as the “Pentateuch”), we realize that Moses is about to pass the baton of leadership to Joshua who will be guiding the generation that will enter the Promised Land. All of Moses’ contemporaries have died in the wilderness and it is this new generation that has been ordained to take the land. So Moses wants to give a refresher course in the ways and plans of God. As we embark on this new series that we are calling “Refresh,” we will find ourselves backing up and reviewing some of what has already transpired so that we don't miss the valuable lessons to be learned for the new venture ahead.
