Mehri Relin has had a fitness company, operating out of NYC and Denver. She works with women throughout their pregnancy, postpartum journey and beyond. The idea is to address how your body changes throughout all of those times through the life of a mama. She runs that program still but is also a therapist working with many different populations. She started working with children and worked on how their brains developed. She likes helping women weave their opportunities as a mom into their lives they had previously. Her training to start working with pregnant clients as a dance teacher was a joke and knew she needed to do better for pregnant women and their wellness. She saw a big need for better care for pregnant women so she built it around her. She helps women through pregnancy in fitness by using more of a Physical Therapy strategy with pelvic floor health, core strength and the changes their body goes through throughout the entire 40 weeks of pregnancy. She also works with mamas through their postpartum journey through their unique body and needs including their posture, core and functional movement, not size or aesthetics. She is more focused on functionality and moving your body in a healthy way. As a therapist she works with women about how their experiences may make them feel alone and how to navigate that. Sometimes we need to find a meaning to the reason and the season of the people in our life. Her advice is to build your village and working things through to plan for your postpartum people before you get there. You can find her online at empoweredlivingcollective.com and at psychologytoday.com. @bodyconceptions on instagram is where you can find her in the fitness world. bodyconceptions.com is her fitness website.
