As Pals, we hang out all the time. "Chilling" or "hanging out" are fine terms when it comes to getting together in the basement, garage, greenhouse, or porch to enjoy a brew and a pipe. Heading out on a trip, excursion, or out on the town is a totally different ballgame. "Hanging out" or "chilling" just doesn't quite make the grade in describing such an occasion. Call it what you will, "Pal-wow" is what we shall henceforth call our special events. It's certainly got a better ring than "Man-date" or "Bro-courting".
