Let’s Chat, Compression Gear For Recovery

Listen Later

This week we explore the world of compression garments and if you go with what our Instagram polls were saying there's not a lot of belief in their effectiveness. We can see why though as putting on a pair of "tight trousers" as Bill put in the episode won't fill you with promise. We wanted to find out if there is a case for compression garments and we also take a look at the scientific space looking compression garments. You know those big tube things you see athletes wear on their legs. Example being "MyoAir"

We also compare compression to massage using that same whopping meta-analysis we looked at in the previous recovery episode. The results were certainly interesting but don't expect it to outdo massage in this paper as we did mention last time that massage came out on top in pretty much everything. However does massage beat compression in terms of ease, money and time?

As mentioned at the beginning of the podcast Andys son Tait is conducting 10,000 steps a day for cancer research. The face he's been doing the majority of these from his front door to back door due to weather shows his level of determination. Go, Tait!
