On Sunday September 15th, our 11am Worship involved reflecting on the themes of justice and poverty. We would like to thank our guest speaker, Hannah Fremont-Brown, for reflecting on the topic in dialogue with the Beatitudes from Matthew's gospel, and for introducing us to the Let's End Poverty initiative.
Let's End Poverty is social justice movement encouraging us all to 'act now for a future where poverty can't keep anyone down'. The initiative consists of both individual supporters and partner organisations (such as The Methodist Church and The Trussell Trust), and works towards the goal of a financially secure future for all in various ways. Currently, a focus of theirs is to ensure that tackling poverty is a priority for the new Labour government.
In this episode, Hannah first speaks on the Let's End Poverty movement, which is followed by a brief musical break. After this break, Hannah proceeds with her reflection on Beatitudes.
