Let’s Get Familiar with Unit J Co-Founder and Music Superstar: Dru Cutler
Dru Cutler is a working part of the Brooklyn music scene. He is the co-founder of Unit J, a Bushwick music space which has hosted hundreds of shows and was nominated for “Best Live Music Venue” on Brokelyn.com.
The singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist graduated on to work with Grammy-award winning producers Dave McNair (Bob Dylan, David Bowie), Scott Lehrer (Philip Glass, Rufus Wainwright), and Andy Taub (Norah Jones, Ani DeFranco).
Recently, Cutler was tapped to organize an eight piece ensemble for the Brooklyn Museum’s “Night of 1,000 Bowies”. The momentum from the sold-out show inspired a torrent of new music, and a tour from Boston, MA to Austin, TX’s South by Southwest. We are grateful to have him as a guest on “Black Canvas.”
