Life inevitably brings storms - health challenges, financial struggles, relationship difficulties, and the reality of aging. The story of Jesus calming the storm in Mark 4:35-41 reveals that following Jesus doesn't exempt us from life's turbulence; in fact, it may lead us into more storms as we go against worldly values. When the disciples questioned whether Jesus cared about their peril, He demonstrated His divine power by instantly calming both wind and waves. The real question isn't whether Jesus has power over our storms, but whether we trust His care and allow Him to be Lord rather than trying to manage Him. Sometimes He calms the storm, sometimes He calms us - both expressions of His lordship and love.
