We discuss how play is perceived around the world. In many cultures play is regarded as silly and a waste of time. So how do we convince parents and stakeholders that play is vital to children's development and learning?

We take a trip around the world to explore how play is being used. Among other places we visit Ukraine and get an insight into how play helps war-affected children, and we visit Jordan, where play is utilized to ignite learning and creativity.

We establish what we know about play from science and why play has a crucial role in working with vulnerable children, for example those who have witnessed war and conflict.
