Birdman showed us how heightened a film can be, because of the cinematography alone. Inarrítu and Lubeski worked together on Birdman and then The Revenant right after, which are two films that shook the entire industry of cinema. Leaving the plot of the story to come secondary to the production itself, while still making room for the highly talented cast. This movie explores the many ways that the insecurities of an artist will rear it's ugly head to other people; and the massive ego thrown on as fuel to that fire.
