Decide to learn more than others. Imagine you're tied to a dock.
If you don't free yourself, God might use storms to set you free. So, let
everything in your life float on God's plan. Go out to sea on the big waves of
His purpose. If you believe in Jesus, you're not meant to stay in the calm
harbor all the time. You have to go beyond the harbor, deep into God's ways,
and start understanding things on your own. You'll gain special insights.
When you do something you know you should do, you learn more.
Look back and see when you started feeling less excited about spiritual things.
It usually goes back to not doing something you knew was right. Maybe you
didn't do it because you didn't feel like it at the time. But now, you're not
as clear-minded. When tough times come, you're not focused like you should be.
It's risky to stop learning and knowing more.
A pretend kind of obedience is when you act like you're
sacrificing a lot and being really enthusiastic. But that's not the same as
really understanding what's right. It's actually harder to follow your
spiritual path than to just sacrifice things. Remember, it's better to know
God's plan for you than to do big things but miss His point. Quoting from the
Bible: "Obeying is better than just sacrificing." - Samuel 15:22
Don't go back to being what you were. God wants you to become
something new. "If you want to do God's will, you'll know what's
right." - John 7:17
