What if you could spark meaningful change—without a title, a stage, or permission?
In this episode of Stress Smarts with Colonel Deb, we talk about what it truly means to be a Catalyst. Not the loudest voice in the room. Not the person forcing outcomes. But the steady, grounded presence who refuses to ignore what’s broken—and takes a small step that changes everything.
Through powerful stories from my own leadership experience—including how a 12-year toxic feud between two colleagues was transformed without firing, shaming, or force—I’ll show you how real change happens when standards are clear, questions are effective, and people are treated with dignity.
This episode introduces my S.P.A.R.K. framework, a practical way to catalyze change without being consumed by it:
S – See the Stuck Patterns
Notice what’s broken or harmful instead of ignoring it.
P – Pause Before You React
Breathe, slow down, and respond with wisdom instead of survival mode.
A – Ask Better Questions
Shift dynamics by asking questions like “What’s working well?” and “What do you want to create?”
R – Rise Above the Noise
Catalysts don’t need to shout. They act with calm strength and clarity.
K – Kindle the Fire of Hope
Small acts of courage and kindness can ignite lasting change.
A true catalyst doesn’t burn out or blow things up.
Like a chemical catalyst, they aren’t consumed—but they change everything.
These episodes are adapted from my live Facebook series, Let’s Talk About…, where I share real tools for rising stronger. You can also watch the video versions on my Stress Intelligence YouTube channel (YouTube.com/@StressIntelligence).
