Deep fakes are a form of artificial intelligence (AI) that allows you to "deepfake" someone's face, putting it on another person or body. On the one hand, this is really exciting technology. You can basically create any image of almost anyone doing anything. But on the other hand, this is like putting time bombs out into the world that can be used for identity theft and misinformation. We chat with Nate and Matthew to discuss what makes deep fakes so dangerous and how to tell if something you're seeing was generated by Deep Fakes.
