•Ben Tankard discovered his passion for music as a child but got distracted by basketball. After making it all the way to the NBA, he returned to his passion of music after a career ending injury, homelessness and an encounter with God.•Former Pro Basketballer, Aircraft Pilot, Reality-TV Dad , Musician, Pastor, "TANK" has done it all! Ben Tankard--known as the Godfather of the GospelJazz music scene--is the genre's bestselling artist/producer of all time, earningseveral gold / platinum records and awards during his critically acclaimed career.•He began playing keyboards, recorded Keynote Speaker (1990) for Tribute, and started to learn about arranging and record production. He has worked with Gerald Albright, Twinkie Clark, Fred Hammond, John P. Kee, ShirleyMurdock, Kelly Price, and Take 6. He is a pastor, record labelpresident and reality television actor with his own show on Bravo TV.•Ben won Stellar Awards' Best Instrumental Album in 2010 for Mercy, Mercy, Mercy.
