Health Equity 52

Let's Talk Health Communication

Listen Later

Recently we had Chelsea Dade the creator of Communicate for Health Justice as a guest on the 52 Weeks of Health Equity podcast.

Communicate for Health Justice (CFHJ)™ is a millennial-driven, Black woman-owned communication platform dedicated to mixing health equity and social justice concepts into health communication editorial content and programs. Since operating as a blog in 2019, CFHJ has showcased the work of talented writers representing diverse backgrounds. Each writer creates original copy that prioritizes communication and equity gaps in health communication. Our programs, including but not limited to book discussions and Instagram lives, have explored similar themes. CFHJ creates communications by taking both the history of health inequity and current social movements, like Black Lives Matter, into account. By challenging the traditional way of communicating about health that tends to stop at the surface and operate unidirectionally, CFHJ is a pioneer in the new wave of equitable, socially-conscious health communication.
Chelsea, discussed health communication, what that is, and why it matters with us. You can learn more about Communicate for Health Justice (CFHJ)™
