This week on The Marvelous Middle Age Podcast I’m joined by Dr. Tanya Teggatz.
Dr. Teggatz practices functional medicine and medical acupuncture with a focus on menopause medicine to help women through the transition through perimenopause and into menopause. She graduated from the University of Iowa's Roy G. Carver's College of Medicine and graduated from the Cedar Rapids Medical Education Foundation's 3 year family practice residency. She trained in functional medicine through the Institute for Functional Medicine and is an IFM certified practitioner and also is board certified in medical acupuncture through the American Board of Medical Acupuncture. She has 25 years of practicing medicine, having opened her own practice, The Teggatz Clinic for Functional Medicine and Medical acupuncture 10 years ago.
She is married to Christopher and is the proud mother of 4 children. In her spare time she loves to travel with her family, bike, jog, hike and explore the national parks. She is very passionate about helping women thrive through the perimenopausal and menopausal transition and maintain strength and vitality into their later years.
We’re kicking off the Let’s Talk Menopause series by defining perimenopause and menopause and the common and not so common symptoms. We also talk generally about ways you can take care of yourself during this time.
Stay tuned for the rest of this season to learn more about best practices for your wellbeing and health, addressing symptoms, Hormone Replacement Therapy and what you can do with all of this information!
