Let’s Talk the Evolution of Health Equity with Joan Reede

On this episode, we are joined by Joan Reede, MD, MS, MPH, MBA, Dean for Diversity and Community Partnership at Harvard Medical School (HMS). In addition to creating the fellowship program whose alumni compose Reede Scholars, Dr. Reede has created and developed more than 20 programs at HMS that aim to address pipeline and leadership issues for minorities and women who are interested in careers in medicine, academic and scientific research, and the healthcare professions.

Dr. Reede holds appointments of Professor of Medicine at HMS, Professor of Society, Human Development, and Health at the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health, and Assistant in Health Policy at Massachusetts General Hospital. She speaks with us about her journey to health equity, the evolution of the health equity conversation over the past 25 years and shares words of wisdom for those of us working in, or interested in working in, the health equity space.
