Something I hear often from my clients is that they struggle with control, or perhaps more accurately, they struggle feeling like they don’t have control. Particularly when there is something they desire, something they are working towards, a dream, a vision or manifestation….that seemingly isn’t coming to fruition.
And they are doing all the right things, they are visualising, manifesting, trying, planning, preparing, taking action and yet….it still doesn’t happen. The dream isn’t here. And this is where there is a tendency towards self-blame, which might sound like “what am I doing wrong?” Followed shortly by an attitude of wanting to knuckle down and commit. To push harder. Do even more. Force. Ultimately all in an attempt to control and guarantee an outcome.
But the truth is, in gripping so tightly to your dream, you end up in this pressure cooker of anticipation where every waking thought is consumed by what you don’t yet have and what you could do differently or more of to achieve it.
And so this meditation was born for those moments of grasping. The moments where you feel yourself gripping, clutching, pushing, striving. This meditation is designed show you what it feels like to let go and to show you that this is safe.
Because when you grip tightly to a desire believing that your happiness or worth depends on it, ultimately you create resistance. But when you release that grip, even just a little, you begin to soften and open yourself up to receiving.
But please know, letting go isn’t about giving up. It’s about remembering that life moves through you and for you, not because of you or to you. It’s about allowing space for grace, for unexpected blessings, for divine timing, happy coincidences, synchronicities and to receive….to allow what is meant for you to flow in.
But remember….you first need to open your hands to receive.
