Nathan chats with Katia Nellies, an eloquent and kind Brazilian Jiu Jitsu fighter, who greeted him with the words, "We won’t hit, but we can choke you."
Nothing short of a darn good sport Katia threw Nathan her “Gi” to wear for the duration of the show….
Katia, a recent graduate of St. George's School, is on the cusp of retiring as the club secretary for Fight Team Impact in Livange as she pursues studies beyond our borders. Her inspiring words give us every reason to consider taking up the sport although might scare the average spectator. She also emphasized the importance of discipline in the sport, mentioning that her persistence is the key to having success. We find out about Katia’s elation when she pulled off the “The crucifix” manoeuvre and shared her embarrassing moment when giving her fellow fight a good old whack on the backside after he succeed in moving up a belt.
In other aspects to the show the media is abuzz with Paris 2024 content as several sports events have commenced two days earlier than the Opening Ceremony. Shockingly, several Canadian coaches from the women’s football team have already been sent home for their misdemeanors due to unsportsmanlike behavior, leaving the rest of the football squad rather red-faced.
