Levítico 15: ¡Siendo puro al instante!

Levítico 15:25-31:
25 “Cuando una mujer tenga flujo de sangre por muchos días fuera del tiempo normal de su menstruación, o cuando tenga flujo de sangre más allá de su menstruación, todo el tiempo que dure el flujo de su impureza ella quedará impura como en el tiempo de su menstruación. 26 Toda cama en que se acueste durante todos los días de su flujo será para ella como la cama durante su menstruación. Igualmente, todo objeto sobre el que ella se siente será inmundo, como en la impureza de su menstruación. 27 Cualquiera que toque estas cosas quedará impuro. Lavará su ropa, se lavará con agua y quedará impuro hasta el anochecer.
28 “Cuando ella quede limpia de su flujo, contará siete días y después quedará purificada. 29 Al octavo día tomará consigo dos tórtolas o dos pichones de paloma, y los llevará al sacerdote, a la entrada del tabernáculo de reunión. 30 El sacerdote ofrecerá uno de ellos como sacrificio por el pecado y el otro como holocausto. Así el sacerdote hará expiación por ella delante del SEÑOR a causa del flujo de su impureza. 31 Así mantendrá a los hijos de Israel apartados de sus impurezas, para que no mueran en sus impurezas, por haber contaminado mi tabernáculo que está entre ellos”.

En este capítulo vemos el proceso complejo de los reglamentos para el hombre y la mujer acerca de sus fluidos corporales.
Todo este rigor de la ley antigua no aplica a nosotros, los cristianos, pues no estamos bajo la ley de Moisés. También es importante aclarar que Dios no rechaza la relación de intimidad entre la pareja, sino que Dios estableció para los israelitas un orden higiénico para el hombre y la mujer, y en cómo volver a ese estado de separación total para Dios, pues Dios estaba presente en medio del campamento. Es por eso que las parejas debían sacar tiempo para ellos y también sacar tiempo para Dios; hacer un balance entre el tiempo para la pareja y el tiempo para poder presentarse en el tabernáculo del Señor.
Ellos debían lavarse con agua, sus vestidos también, y aislarse durante el resto de ese día hasta la noche.
La mujer debía aislarse hasta que terminara su ciclo y debía esperar siete días después desde que se detuvo su flujo. Si no se le detenía por alguna enfermedad, ella quedaba impura hasta que le detuviera el flujo.

Es importante conocer esta ley antigua, para conocer el contexto de lo que aquella mujer del flujo de sangre habría experimentado. Ella llevaba 12 años tratando de ser curada. Había gastado todo en médicos y ninguno pudo ayudarla. Su condición empeoraba. En ese punto tan duro donde ella estuvo impura por tantos años, sin poder desarrollar una vida social normal por tener una salud quebrantada, su desesperación por ser sanada la motivó a hacer algo atrevido, a tomar un acto de fe que nadie había hecho. Cuando ella vio a la distancia una multitud que rodeaba a Jesús, ella se dijo a sí misma: "¡Si tan solo tocare el borde de su manto, seré sana!"
Sacó fuerzas de la debilidad, se llenó de valor y, sin que la multitud la notara, ella comenzó a infiltrarse en medio de la multitud con el riesgo de ser castigada por quebrantar la ley porque todo el que la haya tocado sería impuro, y podrían tomar represalias contra ella.
En medio de la algarabía, Jesús levantó su voz y dijo: "¡Alguien me ha tocado!" Pedro, con cara de sorpresa, le recuerda al Maestro que toda la multitud lo apretaba, pero Jesús especificó que alguien lo había tocado con tanta fe, que poder salió de Él.
Ella, temblando, confesó su acción y la razón por la que lo había tocado. Jesús le dio tranquilidad, confirmando que su fe la había sanado de ese azote. Ese mismo día se había vuelto pura.

Recordemos que la ley nos recuerda lo débiles y pecadores que somos, pero ¡esa ley nos impulsa a buscar la salida, el camino a la libertad, sanidad y salvación! No nos cansemos de tomar acciones drásticas de fe cuando se trata de buscar la sanidad física y del alma, cuando se trata de llegar a la presencia de Dios, y alcanzar la restauración y pureza para nosotros y para nuestra familia, como escribió la escritora norteamericana Veronica Ruth: "A veces, cambios drásticos requieren medidas drásticas.”

Gracias al Señor Jesucristo, tenemos acceso a Su presencia, y no hay inmundicia o impureza que nos impida acercarnos a Él y tocar el borde de Su vestidura. Solamente tenemos la determinación de llegar a Su presencia en oración llena de fe hasta que se derrame Su Espíritu Santo sobre ti y sientas Su poder.

Leviticus 15: Being pure instantly!

Leviticus 15:25-31:
‘If a woman has a discharge of blood for many days, other than at the time of her customary impurity, or if it runs beyond her usual time of impurity, all the days of her unclean discharge shall be as the days of her customary impurity. She shall be unclean. Every bed on which she lies all the days of her discharge shall be to her as the bed of her impurity; and whatever she sits on shall be unclean, as the uncleanness of her impurity. Whoever touches those things shall be unclean; he shall wash his clothes and bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.
‘But if she is cleansed of her discharge, then she shall count for herself seven days, and after that she shall be clean. And on the eighth day she shall take for herself two turtledoves or two young pigeons, and bring them to the priest, to the door of the tabernacle of meeting. Then the priest shall offer the one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering, and the priest shall make atonement for her before the Lord for the discharge of her uncleanness.
‘Thus you shall separate the children of Israel from their uncleanness, lest they die in their uncleanness when they defile My tabernacle that is among them.

In this chapter we see the process complex of regulations for men and women about their bodily fluids.
All this rigor of the old law does not apply to us Christians, because we are not under the law of Moses. It is also important to clarify that God does not reject the intimate relationship between the couple, but rather that God established for the Israelites a hygienic order for men and women, and how to return to that state of total separation for God, since God was present in the middle of the camp. That is why couples had to make time for themselves and also make time for God; make a balance between the time for the couple and the time to be able to appear in the tabernacle of the Lord.
They had to wash themselves with water, their clothes too, and isolate themselves for the rest of that day until night.
The woman had to isolate herself until her cycle was over and had to wait seven days after her flow had stopped. If she was not stopped for some illness, she was impure until her flow was stopped.

It is important to know this ancient law, to know the context of what that woman with the issue of blood would have experienced. She had been trying to be cured for 12 years. She had spent everything on doctors and none could help her. Her condition was worsening. In that hard point where she was impure for so many years, unable to develop a normal social life due to poor health, her desperation to be healed motivated her to do something daring, to take an act of faith that no one had done. When she saw a crowd surrounding Jesus in the distance, she said to herself: "If I just touch the border of His garment, I'll be healed!"
She drew strength from weakness, she was filled with courage and, without the crowd noticing her, she began to infiltrate in the midst of the crowd at the risk of being punished for breaking the law because everyone who touched her would be impure, and they could retaliate against her.
In the midst of the hubbub, Jesus raised His voice and said: "Someone has touched me!" Peter, with a surprised face, reminds the Teacher that the whole crowd was squeezing Him, but Jesus specified that someone had touched Him with such faith, that power came out of Him.
She, trembling, confessed her action and the reason why she had touched Him. Jesus reassured her, confirming that her faith had healed her from that scourge. That same day she had become pure.

Let us remember that the law reminds us how weak and sinful we are, but that law impels us to seek the way out, the path to freedom, healing and salvation! Let us not get tired of taking drastic actions of faith when it comes to seeking physical and soul healing, when it comes to reaching the presence of God, and achieving restoration and purity for ourselves and for our family, as the American writer Veronica Ruth wrote: "Sometimes drastic changes require drastic measures."

Thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ, we have access to His presence, and there is no uncleanness or impurity that prevents us from reaching out to Him and touching the border of His garment. We only have the determination to come into His presence in faith-filled prayer until His Holy Spirit is poured out on you and you feel His power.
