God knows biology better than anybody, for He made everybody. God weaves compassion and care in his laws, proving that His desire is not for senseless isolation but careful restoration and purification of our lives, giving us time to become whole. 1,500 years later, Joseph and Mary obeyed Leviticus 12 as they presented the ritual purification offering, which required poor families to offer two turtle doves or two pigeons.
