* The words “keep” and “do” are separated in this verse.
* The Greek word for “keep” is “tereo,” which means “to guard (from loss or injury - properly keeping the eye upon….).
* So we have two responsibilities regarding God’s Word:
* 1) KEEP His commandments - we need to guard God’s commands just like a security guard watches over a priceless work of art.
* He watches out for those who would try to steal it or abuse it.
* These would be false prophets who need a rebuke.
* 2) DO His commands - we need to live the commands, making them our lifestyle.
* Obedience to His commands paves the way for His power to flow through us in a mighty way.
