Even though she is one of the best known Italian chefs, author and PBS TV personality….for Thanksgiving…Lidia Bastianich prepares the traditional turkey. But, of course, with a twist. And you can do it too…even if you already have the bird in the oven…

“How do you get that golden color, nice brown on the turkey skin, everybody wants to do that. Butter does it to a certain extent. But if you put balsamic vinegar, I reduce it a little with honey, with some herbs. And then in the last half hour of baking I brush the turkey with this mixture and the turkey becomes a nice mahogany color. I do it every year. People love it.”
