Liège is often called one of the most industrial and gritty cities in Belgium. While many travelers skip it entirely, I wanted to head directly into the streets to see the reality for myself. Is it misunderstood, or does it share the same deep systemic struggles as parts of Brussels and Antwerp?

In this video, I conduct a high-stakes investigation into the dark underbelly of the city. Accompanied by Billy Moore and Fred the Bodyguard for security, we push past the city center—which faces a highly visible crisis with homelessness and substance abuse—and head straight into the notorious neighborhood of Droixhe.

What we uncovered deep within these high-rise suburban blocks was genuinely shocking. From encountering highly volatile street dynamics to uncovering a hidden world that feels completely separated from the rest of Belgian society, the atmosphere on the ground was incredibly tense.
