Life After the Impact hosts Roxane and LaToya interviewed Katie Wright about the fight for justice for her son, Daunte Wright.

In the Minneapolis suburb of Brooklyn Center, former police officer Kim Potter shot and killed 20-year-old Daunte Wright after pulling him over for expired tags on April 11, 2021. When Daunte was attempting to get back into his car after officers tried to arrest him, Potter, former officer trainer, yelled, “taser, taser,” YET shot her handgun at Daunte and killed him. She also advised officers to turn off their body cameras after they had killed Kobe Dimock Heisler in 2019.

Kobe’s mom, Amity, along with Katie, have worked with the Brooklyn Center City Council for the last 3 years to create policy changes. However, in the last hour, the city council did not pass the Traffic Stop Policy that was recommended by the Daunte and Kobe Community Safety Committee.

The work continues.
