It seems many things in life happen gradually. Sneaking slowly up on you and then yelling boo! This happens in my life all the time. Most recently in my shower.
The flu is brutal. It can lay you low for awhile. And when you do get up, you feel like a wrung washcloth that is dehydrated and limp.
