In this episode, I sit down with Lysa TerKeurst for a really honest conversation about something I think a lot of us struggle with: control.

Lisa shares how anxiety, fear, and experiencing worst-case scenarios can cause us to hold on tighter and try to control the people and circumstances we love most. We talk about what it looks like to recognize what we can actually do, what we have to accept, and ultimately what we need to release into God's hands.

We also get into parenting adult kids, marriage, broken trust, and the difference between caring for someone and trying to control them. Lisa gives two simple phrases that can completely change the way we communicate with our adult children: "Are you open to a thought?" and learning to say "okay" when they make a decision we wouldn't make.

This is such an honest and practical conversation about trusting God with the people and things we love most—and learning to let go of what was never ours to control in the first place.

Sometimes the best conversations happen when you least expect them.

In this episode, I'm taking the podcast downtown and having conversations with people I've never met before - about faith, doubt, prayer, church, and what it looks like to follow Jesus in everyday life.

One conversation especially stuck with me. I met Sky, who grew up around Christianity but has wrestled with what she sees and hears from Christians today. We talked honestly about politics, spiritual questions, church hurt, creativity, and what she thinks about Jesus.

We also talk about something I know a lot of us wrestle with: How do you actually talk about your faith with people who don't go to church? I share some simple ways to start those conversations through praying for opportunities, asking questions, sharing your story, inviting someone along, and most importantly, letting the way we live point people toward Jesus.

Because following Jesus isn't about having all the right answers or forcing a conversation. Sometimes it starts with simply being willing to sit down, listen, and love someone well.

I've known Jon Weece for a long time, and every time I get around him, I walk away with something I need to think about.

Jon and I sat down and talked about a little bit of everything, from what 26 years of ministry has taught him, to staying humble and kind, dealing with criticism without becoming bitter, and remembering that our identity is rooted in who we are, not what we do.

We also talked about something I think a lot of men struggle with: friendship. How do you make good friends as an adult? How do you find people who will encourage you, challenge you, and help you become more like Jesus?
