If you want to follow Jesus, it requires action.
What is that action? To be wise about what you are building your life upon!
The wise build a foundation on truth, on Christ, the Solid Rock.
Build it on yourself, watch it fall, build it on God, watch it grow tall.
How are you living your life? What are you building with your precious time, energy, effort, talent, opportunities, and resources?
What is your foundation for life? What do you find security in? Is Your Life Built Upon The “Rock”?
Can you relate more to The Wise or the Foolish Builder in Jesus’ parable?
Some of us look just like others to the outside world; we look like a house all put together….but underneath the surface, we’re not the same at all. Underneath the surface is what’s important. When the storms of life come, the foundation in our soul is what holds us together. Christ must be your foundation. All other ground is sinking sand.
Matthew 7:24-29
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
28 When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, 29 because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law.
