Mel’s Mindful Moments S1-E39
It’s unfortunate that life doesn’t come with a try before you buy option!
Whatever we are given when we enter the world, is what we got to work with.
We are like raw material when we are born into this world.
Then life goes straight to work, shaping and molding us into our basic form.
At the beginning we learn most things by trial and error, like our motor skills, exploring our limited world, learning how to get our needs met by all means necessary.
And even learning to communicate with our limited speech.
Our parents take the first shot at us, to teach us what they want us to know.
These things include their beliefs, fears, cultures, and even manner of speech.
Next the school systems have their turn to mold our minds, and “educate” us so that we can function in society and potentially be productive human beings, to whatever degree.
Then those who continue on to college to obtain their degree, having a little more control over their destiny, but still within the limits of their major.
Now we are ready to set out and make our mark on the world! Right?
Sometimes I wish life was that simple, but sadly, it is not!
Some people graduate college and start their occupations only to find out later it’s not for them. Others who didn’t attend college, get jobs that they hate just to make ends meet and wish they had attended college instead.
On and on these stories of “I wish I would have…” (fill in the blank).
In life there are no take backs, opportunities only stay open for so long. Life is not always clear cut and it will throw you many curve balls. And since we make some of the most important life decisions in our youth, it’s no wonder we make the wrong choices sometimes.
Since we can’t change what life throws at us, let us at least make the best choices we can for our own lives. We really need to look at ALL the options when making our decisions.
Don’t just flip a coin. Really evaluate every aspect of each choice. Then visualize yourself in it, before you make your final choices.
Since Life is a one shot deal, don’t you want the best life that you can have?
Then I suggest that you really take the time, to make the best choices for you!
