Hey Y'all! Thank you for tuning in to Life Cycle where we talk about where we discuss peoples journeys in life and how people change and grow through their personal experiences. In today's episode, i am proud to introduce you to my awesome, incredible and multi-talented cousin, Norah Ostin. She actually has her own podcast, called Norah Rants, which you should totally check out. I actually went on her podcast and we discussed our journey with our body image and how we went from being insecure to confidence. I will leave a link below for her podcast so that you can listen to her other episodes as well as the episode that i feature in. For the second episode of Life Cycle, Norah and I get pretty deep and personal about our struggles with living in predominantly white neighborhoods, wanting to fit in, accepting our race, exploring our culture as Haitian Americans, and our natural hair journey. I am very happy and proud of this episode, and i'm so excited to be sharing it with y'all.

This is the very first episode of Life Cycle, a podcast about people’s life journeys, their experiences and the way they’ve grown over time. Life Cycle is run by me, Lisa Ostin. I’m a 17 year old with curiosity and a drive to impact people’s lives. In this episode, my interviewee is the humble Dr. Ali Ahmed, an ER doctor who works at Mease Countryside Hospital. I’m embarrassed to say that I mixed up his name during the episode but he was gracious and wasn’t bothered by it . We discussed the complexities in the dynamic of being the kid of immigrants, the experiences we’ve encountered with dealing with our ethnicities and race, what it’s like to be in the medical field, and what spirituality means to us. I am very proud of this episode. There were some technical difficulties along the way and the editing isn’t perfect but nonetheless I am very happy with the outcome. It represents the beginning of a new chapter for me, which is really exciting.
