Last week the Supreme Court heard oral arguments in the case of First Choice Women’s Resource Center v. Platkin. 

The pro-life resource center has asked the Court to block an intrusive subpoena from  Matthew Platkin, Attorney General of New Jersey. The subpoena is part of a targeted harassment campaign and demands donor lists, staff and volunteer records, and years of financial and operational documents, despite no complaints, illegal activity, or any evidence of wrongdoing. 

Audio from the oral argument indicates that the justices are skeptical of New Jersey’s position as even liberal Justices Sotomayor and Kagan pushed back at times.
