GREATER is based on the true story of Brandon Burlsworth considered perhaps the greatest walk-on (i.e., non-scholarship player) in college football history. He played offensive guard from 1995 to 1998, earning NCAA All-American honors in his senior season.He was selected in the third round of the NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts Burlsworth died in a car accident on his weekly visit home to his family just days before he was to sign his NFL contract. GREATER spotlights the hard work and determination Brandon exhibited on and off the field – a dedication that allowed him to succeed as a football player when he was considered too awkward and out of shape to compete at a high level; and become the first player in University of Arkansas history to best and overcome the obstacles. Brandon was a young man of great faith who knew that God had a plan for his life  tragic could happen to someone who’d always done things “the right way. GREATER releases in theaters this Friday, August 26.·         What kind of little brother was Brandon? The movie does a great job of showing just how dedicated he was to making his dream of playing for the Razorbacks come true. What stands out in your mind about his character and determination in making that dream a reality?
What was it like watching Chris Severio bring your brother to life on the big screen? There are some pretty intense moments in the film of you (as played by Neal McDonough) really struggling with your faith after Brandon’s death. Can you talk about those dark days and how you got past them? “Doing it the Burls Way” has become a rallying cry in Arkansas and beyond. What does that phrase mean to you? What do you hope audiences come away with after seeing this film?
