Next, the boys are joined by Former Australian Treasurer & Deputy leader of the Liberal Party, Josh Frydenberg. The chat covers Josh’s promising tennis career BT, his passion for the Carlton Blues and their mutual love of Lorne. They then discuss Josh’s professional life, from excelling in the academic realm, his time in the private sector and pathway into politics. The boys quiz Josh on what life is like in Parliament, sacrifices made, stories from his impressive career and his thoughts on the state of the country and the world.
 
Finally, they address a conversation that is very close to Josh’s heart and means a lot to his community. Josh is a proud Jewish man and has made the brave decision to use his profile and voice as a device for change, he has just released a powerful new documentary called ‘Never Again: The Fight Against Anti-Semitism’. The documentary investigates the devastating impact of antisemitism on Australia and delivers a message of warning and a plea to come together to stamp out the issue in our community. For the main course, the boys are joined by Australian podcast mogul, Dylan Buckley. Dylan is a former AFL player for the Carlton Blues and GWS Giants and is now taking the ‘new media’ world by storm with his podcast ‘Dyl & Friends’, and his two businesses in Producey (a content creation and brand amplification studio) and Clubby Sports (an independent podcast network). They discuss Dyl’s journey post football, finding purpose, carving out your niche, setting standards for yourself and what’s in the secret sauce for creating a successful business. Life of Brian | #35 Dylan Buckley – Former AFL player, podcaster, author & co-founder of Producey & Clubby Sports.

This week Brian and Harrison kick things off with some footy chat, where they talk through Brian's thoughts on fans touching players and question if anything has changed with the AFL media's access to players since the new rules came in. Brian then dissects the state and federal budgets as well as the Tom Brady Roast on Netflix.
Later, the boys are joined by Australian Surfing Legend, Mark 'Occy' Occhilupo.
Occy, aka 'The Raging Bull' was the World Surfing Champion in 1999 and spent the majority of his professional career in the top 5 of the World Surfing (ASP) rankings. A a goofy-footer, he is known for his powerful and aggressive style. Over many years he developed a deadly forehand rail game and an equally lethal backhand attack, notably, his backhand surfing has been touted by some of the industries most respected identities as the best they have ever seen. Along with his incredible talent, it is his character out of the water that has made Occy such an iconic personally, he's fun, his attitude is infectious and he's just an all-round ripping fella. Occy's life hasn't been all rainbows and sunshine though, he's battled with depression and substance abuse since his early 20s, an illness which subsequently forced him to step away from professional surfing, a decision that at first sent him on a further spiral downward. Eventually, but not without failed attempts, he, along with the help of close friends and supporters, hauled himself bout of the darkness and into a better frame of mind, ultimately, leading to a World Surfing title at the age of 33.
His story is undoubtably one of the greatest comeback stories in Australian sporting history. We thank Mark for sharing his story.

Brian shares the story behind his 'Drainman' post on social media, he talks about meeting one of his idols in Greg Norman and finally, Harrison chairs a few items of concern with the Fitzroy pad with the landlord (Brian).

Mitch has forged an impressive career in news spanning over 40 years as a reporter, producer, writer and presenter, he has covered and witnessed some of the biggest news stories of the past 3 decades including: the Ash Wednesday and Black Saturday bushfires, the death of Princess Diana, September 11, the Bali bombings and the Covid-19 Pandemic.

This week Brian and Harrison kick things off with some general discussions around footy, LIV Golf and life, where BT got uncharacteristically reflective around how you're remembered after we're gone.
Later, the boys are joined by Melbourne pub owner and hospitality industry identity Simon Lennox. Simon has worked in and owned some of Melbourne's most popular venues for over 36 years, notably the Middle Park Hotel, the Beach Hotel, Beaumaris Hotel, Motel nightclub and more recently the Osborne Hotel. Brian and Simon met when Simon played U/19s at Collingwood and then when BT retired from league football, he recruited the young star to the Prahran Football Club.
This episode explores Simon’s career in football, one that had him teetering right on the edge of league football for many years, although he wasn’t able to break through at the top level of football, Simon has found great success in the hospitality industry. They discuss what it takes to create a bustling venue and expose which of the Taylor boys have been waking Simon up at midnight to get into the Osborne.
