Way back at the beginning, when Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden, they decided to: trust themselves, love themselves, and do their own thing. Since then, all of humanity has been stuck on the pendulum. But Jesus, who through His atoning sacrifice provided for our salvation also lifts us off the pendulum to live in newness of life.
