Jesus pursues us so that we might know "life to the full." Jesus isn't content to leave Peter as someone who is "forgiven" but still struggles with the pain and confusion of his betrayal. He walks with him through his pain, restores him, and commissions him to a partnership in ministry and a deep abiding relationship. Jesus offers the same to us.
