Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Rodney Crowell has a career that spans more than 50 years, with 15 #1 hits on the country charts and songs written for legends Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and George Strait, as well as stars like Tim McGraw and Keith Urban.

Last year, Crowell released Airline Highway, following his Grammy-nominated album The Chicago Sessions—produced by Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy—and contributed to Willie Nelson’s acclaimed Oh What a Beautiful World, which features fresh interpretations of 12 classic songs penned by Crowell, including a duet between the two legendary artists. 

Crowell’s influence stretches beyond country music. His songs have been interpreted by R&B icons like Etta James and rock legends including Van Morrison and Bob Seger. Beyond music, he has authored an acclaimed memoir, Chinaberry Sidewalks, and a lyrical retrospective, Word for Word. 

Recently, Rodney was inducted into the prestigious Texas Institute of Letters, joining literary giants such as Cormac McCarthy, Larry McMurtry, and Sandra Cisneros.

Grammy Award–winning actor, singer, and producer Brandon Victor Dixon is stepping into a powerful new chapter. His latest single, “Maybe,” offers a poignant glimpse into his songwriting, with more to come on his forthcoming album.

Dixon’s acclaimed career spans stage, screen, and music. His standout credits include his Emmy and Grammy-nominated portrayal of Judas in NBC’s Jesus Christ Superstar; his electrifying performance as Aaron Burr in the Broadway phenomenon Hamilton; and his Tony-nominated roles as Eubie Blake in Shuffle Along and Harpo in The Color Purple. He also earned a Grammy nomination for his portrayal of Berry Gordy Jr. in the Tony and Grammy-nominated Broadway production Motown The Musical.

Most recently, Dixon won a Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album and received a Tony nomination for his performance as Davis in the original company of Hell’s Kitchen. The Alicia Keys-inspired, multi–award-winning Broadway musical will play its final performance at Broadway's Shubert Theatre on February 22, with Dixon returning to his role beginning January 27.

In addition to his original music, he has released a hauntingly beautiful rendition of the Eagles’ classic “Hotel California,” further showcasing his vocal depth and versatility.

The stars turned out in style last night for the National Board of Review Annual Awards Gala, held at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City. 

The elegant evening celebrated the year’s finest achievements in cinema and brought together many of the industry’s most acclaimed talents. Among the 2025 National Board of Review honorees were Leonardo DiCaprio, who received Best Actor for One Battle After Another; Rose Byrne, awarded Best Actress for If I Had Legs I’d Kick You; Benicio Del Toro, who took home Best Supporting Actor for One Battle After Another; and Chase Infiniti, honored with Breakthrough Performance for the same film. Clint Bentley and Greg Kwedar were also recognized, winning Best Adapted Screenplay for Train Dreams. 

The gala drew an impressive crowd, with Stellan Skarsgård, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Peter Sarsgaard among the notable attendees. 

Willie Geist hosted the evening, guiding the celebration of cinematic artistry with warmth and humor. Presenting awards throughout the night were Emily Blunt, Joel Edgerton, Michael B. Jordan, Wunmi Mosaku, and several other distinguished guests, making the event a memorable tribute to the power of film.
