Knowing Yourself — The Likeness
Lifeward Coaching | Pillar II
Human beings are created in the image and likeness of God.
These two words are often spoken together, but they describe two different dimensions of our identity.
The image reveals who we are.
The likeness reveals how we function.
In this episode of Lifeward Living, we explore the second dimension of identity — the likeness. If the image speaks of our origin in God, the likeness speaks of our ability to express and create as God.
Scripture says, “You are gods, and children of the Most High.” Yet many people still experience limitation, confusion, and suffering. Why?
Because identity is only partially understood.
We may recognise the image, but misunderstand the likeness.
The likeness refers to the functional aspect of our identity. It reveals that we are thought expressed — conscious beings capable of generating thoughts that shape experience.
In this sense, we participate in creation itself.
Not as independent sources of life, but as expressions of the Source, co-creating with the divine principle that animates all things.
In this episode we explore:
To know the image is to understand your origin.
To understand the likeness is to understand your creative capacity.
