This week we’re going to spotlight a treasured Atlanta institution, The Varsity. Back in August of 2019, we sat down with Ashley Weiser, the company’s marketing director and great-granddaughter of founder Frank Gordy. For over 90 years, the Varsity has been asking guests “What’ll Ya Have?” and we hope that’ll continue for another 90 years to come! Until all restrictions are lifted the Varsity’s Athens, Gwinnett, Kennesaw, and Dawsonville locations are open for drive-thru service. The Atlanta location is currently open for drive in and take out service. As of Tuesday, June 16th, the Atlanta location has also been able to reopen the downstairs dining rooms. The Varsity appreciates all of the support they have received from the community and can’t wait until we’re able to dine together again!
Even as various shops begin to reopen, the shock of this virus is still being felt all across the small business community and they need your support more than ever. We are continuing to rerelease episodes with some of our previous guests, but make sure you check out our Instagram as we share lots of other Atlanta small businesses that could use your support too!
If you know of a small business in need of help at this time, please share their story with us! Use the hashtag #LIFTATL2020. We are building a database of social media posts, graphics, and audio clips for you to download, share and use how you see fit. We hope all of you will latch on to this cause and share the needs of those in our community. For more information visit liftatl2020.com.
