Rev. Master Meian Elbert, Abbess of Shasta Abbey, talks about how from the Buddhist perspective the universe is full of light. She references the Avatamsaka Scripture, which is one of the main scriptures in Mahayana Buddhism. She encourages us, however, not to get caught in the duality that 'light' is good and 'darkness' is bad. In reality both are necessary.
