In the fourth week of Advent we light the candle of love. We are people redeemed and sustained by God’s unfailing love. As we receive this love from Christ, his love in us, by the power of his Spirit, spills over to light a dark world.

On the last Sunday before Christmas, Alastair Sterne preaches from John 1.1-9, and invites us to reflect upon light and darkness. As he draws our attention to the darkness in our own lives and in the world around us, he helps us see that the true light is coming into the world, and Jesus will shine brighter still.
